The peregrine was handed in at Welgelegen Bird and Animal Clinic by a member of the public on 7 November 2009. This peregrine ring no 7-98825 was part of a study by Dr Andrew Jenkins.

The birds wing was badly damaged.The bird probably flew into an obstacle whilst in pursuit.

Despite trying to pin the wing nothing worked.  The only sound alternative was to put down the bird.

We opted to rather try and put the bird into a breeding program.

Club permits have been applied for at Cape Nature and a response is awaited before any further decisions are being made.
