Apprenticeship & Grading

To become a falconer an effective apprenticeship is followed. Various countries have similar apprenticeship programmes namely the USA, Germany and Spain.

The apprenticeship is controlled by the club management committee, and with effect from 2010  will change. Currently the apprenticeship is dictated by practical work in order to progress, but in review of research and trends a combination of theory and practice will be implemented by means of modules.

If you want to become a lawyer or an artisan  you need to do articles (practical work) after completing you theory (degree, certificate or diploma). These articles are the application of theoretical knowledge in practice.

In order to raise the standard of falconers and to ensure all relevant fields of knowledge are covered a combination of theory  and articles in the form of modules will with effect from 2010 be implemented.

Due to the professional development of the course, course fees will be implemented to cover course material costs and the accreditation of the course.

The 2010 curriculum will be as follows:

Level 1 – Novice Entry Level

Level 2 – Novice Secondary Level

Level 3 – Apprentice Level – Grade C

Level 4 – Falconer – Grade B

Level 5 – Falconer – Grade A
