What is falconry
If you are considering to become a falconer there are several things to consider as from the start falconry is a way of living and not a past time or hobby. Falconry in essence requires commitment, patience, commitment, commitment and again patience.
All raptors used in falconry is basically divided into three groups. These groups are referred to as Broadwings (Eagles), Longwings (Falcons) and Shortwings(Hawks)
Each category is discussed on its own except broadwings. As Broadwings are the training and flying of eagles, its not selected as currently not one of our members are flying any eagles and due to the challenge an eagle can pose in terms of temperament and longevity its a falconry discipline considered a specialty in our club.
