BFC Code of Conduct
Management of the club undertakes to promote and preserve the dignity and self-esteem of all club members, and accordingly, has drawn up a code of conduct, which everybody will be expected to adhere to. This code of conduct will form part of the disciplinary code, and failure by any member to adhere to it will result in severe disciplinary action being taken, which could result in termination or expulsion from the club.
PRINCIPLES
In order to create a pleasant climate in which to function and to reduce any unnecessary conflict in the club, it shall be expected that everybody shall treat their fellow club members and committee officials with due respect and shall conduct themselves with dignity at all times. The following behaviour will not be tolerated and will be condoned during club activities or on any other premises where the reputation of the club may be brought into dispute.
Inferior and unsafe raptor housing facilities
Unacceptable methods of handling, caring and neglect of raptors
Inferior and unsafe falconry equipment
Failure to pay membership fees.
Actual or threatened assault towards fellow members
Abusive, insulting, racist or obscene language or gestures
Giving or receiving bribes or other favours
Insolence, insubordination or refusing to obey instructions
Intimidation, victimisation or inciting others to commit illegal acts
Bringing the club’s name into disrepute
Intoxication
PROCEDURES
All club members are expected to abide by the club’s policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe and orderly club and to facilitate communication and harmony to the mutual benefit of all concerned.
All club members shall adhere to the following procedures.
No firearms or other dangerous weapons shall be brought to club activities without the prior written permission of management.
No person shall participate in political activities or make any political statements at club meetings.
No person shall behave in a manner which may endanger the safety of the raptors, his own health or safety or that of others, or which may jeopardise the club activities or damage.
No fighting will be allowed at club activities. Should any person be aggrieved by the actions of other, then the grievance procedure should be followed.
No club member shall threaten or assault any other club member or visitor either during or after club activities.
No person shall use any offensive or obscene language or gestures to any other person. This includes any word which are offensive to any person and which refers to a person’s race, sex or religion.
No club member shall participate in any illegal activities or action nor incite others to participate in such activities or actions.
All club members are expected to use their best endeavours to promote, develop, protect, improve and preserve the club, interest, reputation and goodwill of the club at all times.
SHOULD ANY CLUB MEMBER CONTRAVENE ANY OF THE PROVISIONS OF THIS CODE OF CONDUCT, DISCIPLINARY ACTION WILL FOLLOW WHICH COULD LEAD TO THE TERMINATION OF CLUB MEMBERSHIP.
